By coincidence, good friends invited us over for a soup potluck tonight. As the longest night of the year, it seemed perfect to be spending it tucked together with warm soup, fresh bread, and lovely conversations. The kids were at the fancy kids table, certainly enjoying the freedom as much as the adults were at our table.
The night is long ahead of us - the letters to Father Christmas were written earlier in the day, and carefully placed in their traditional mailbox (more on that tomorrow), and after a late night, the kids are drifting into the start of this winter season with fond memories and eager expectations.
